01 / The first push

Talent is everywhere.
Opportunity should
be, too.

Sport opens the door.
Education opens the future.

Mamelodi is full of energy, creativity and young people with something to give. But safe places to play, learning resources and opportunities to develop are not always within reach.

Founded by skateboarder and community leader Poelo Mofolo, Mams EduPark is building on the spirit of Mamelodi Skate Club to bring sport, education and community support together in one place.

From Mamelodi Skate Club to EduPark

More than a sport.
A way forward.

Learning to skate means learning to fall, get up and try again. Through structured programmes, the club encourages confidence, discipline, leadership and connection.

EduPark takes that same spirit further. A permanent home where the next step might be homework support, digital skills, a mentor or a new ambition.

ARTIST’S CONCEPT · PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT · NOT A COMPLETED FACILITY
01

A first push.
A stronger foundation.

The public skatepark is the anchor facility. A safe, accessible home for skateboarding, structured youth programmes and the confidence that grows through practice.

The bigger picture

Built around
young people.

From classrooms and a computer laboratory to a community library, multipurpose hall, counselling space and outdoor gathering areas, the vision connects learning with everyday life.

The precinct will grow in phases, shaped by available resources, planning requirements and community needs.

03 / From vision to ground

Start with a skatepark.
Build a future.

A practical, phased approach. Each stage creates community value while making the next stage possible.

01 / PROPOSED YEARS 1–2

Give the movement
a home.

Develop the skatepark as the anchor project, creating a permanent space for skateboarding, youth development and community activity.

02 / PROPOSED YEAR 3

Open more
doors.

Expand into classrooms for homework support, a computer centre and a community garden, alongside recruiting tenants.

03 / PROPOSED YEARS 4–5

Grow stronger.
Go further.

Strengthen programmes and partnerships, maintain facilities and demonstrate measurable community impact.

This proposed programme aligns with the five-year lease requested in the August 2026 proposal. Delivery depends on property arrangements, planning and funding. Successful delivery would support a request for longer-term tenure and further investment.
